Our Story on Kanjala Hill

Set high on Kanjala Hill just outside Chipata, Deans Hill View Lodge began as a simple idea: a quiet place where travellers could unpack, breathe, and watch the Eastern Province light soften over the hills.

Today the lodge is a gentle spread of chalets, shaded camping pitches and open communal spaces built from local brick, thatch and warm red earth. Mornings bring birdsong and long views; evenings bring woodsmoke, cold drinks and the kind of conversation only shared travel creates.

It is the natural stopover between Lusaka, the wild plains of South Luangwa National Park, and the blue water of Lake Malawi — unhurried, affordable and genuinely welcoming.
